What I Am Thankful For

I was not home this year to celebrate Thanksgiving, however that is no reason to not reflect on what I am thankful for. I am most thankful for my husband who has supported me throughout my journey in the Netherlands. He also read over all my fellowship applications so that I could win the Whitaker. He is truly my rock.

I am thankful for everyone that has made living abroad so wonderful. To my family and friends abroad for the skype calls, emails, cards in the mail, etc. Also, all the people I have met while living abroad. I have made connections with so many fascinating, fun and different people.

Finally, I am thankful that I am healthy, happy and was born in country where women can study and be who they want to be. When life gets hard, I try to remember all the things I do have versus what I dont.
